MINI-THON COMMITTEE

Heidi Trecoske is a Penn State Alumni that lives in Montrose, Pennsylvania.  She graduated in 2005 from the College of Communications and is a new member to the Greater Binghamton Chapter.  She is in the early stages of getting a mini-THON set up at a local high school.
A mini-THON is much like THON but on a smaller scale.  Students from elementary through high school all over the country participate in their own mini-THONs to help raise money, awareness and find a cure to Pediatric Cancer.
As a student at Penn State Heidi was very much involved in Penn State Dance Marathon and her experience and passion for THON is going make this event sensational.  She will be formally asking the principal of Montrose High School, Mr. Tallerico, if we can hold a Mini-THON at their school. The Montrose High School would be one high school that is a part of many in Pennsylvania that contribute to the Main Campus Dance Marathon totals in February.
To make this happen we will need a committee to help plan the mini-THON. If anyone would like to help or has questions or comments please contact Heidi at psuheidi@hotmail.com or (570)-877-1708.

Another GBA-PSU Student to be proud of!

If you haven't seen the  Academic-All Big Ten list of winter honorees yet you may recognize one of the women athletes on the Women's Swimming team, Megan Springsteen, a junior majoring in marketing from Owego, NY.  We want to extend our congratulations to Megan and recognize her achievement.  The women's swimming team had 17 honorees, the most of any winter team.

To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be letter winners who are in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.

You can view the complete list here.
